About TasMAF
The Game of Masters Australian Football (MAF) provides the opportunity for players 30 years and over to enjoy the game of Aussie Rules Football in a safe, supportive and fun environment.
After first commencing nationally in 1980 the sport is governed by MAF (formerly Superules Australia Inc) and its nine member state Associations and is now played by over 119 teams throughout Australia.
MAF has a national standardised set of modified rules designed to reduce the risks of injury and has the benefit of being acknowledged and supported by the AFL and the Australian Sports Commission.
Tasmania formed a superules competition in 1997 with a side from Launceston joining sides from the south. This competition has now evolved into a 10 team competition based in the South. A major tri series competition between the North, North West and South is held during the year at the three regional premier venues.
The big event of the year for MAF is the National Carnival which is played annually, rotating to various State venues.
